17-4 PH steel plates stainless produced from iron-based alloys having 11% chromium that prevents iron from rusting and makes 17-4 PH steel plates stainless a useful product. 17-4 PH steel plates stainless is a martensitic precipitated providing high strength and good corrosion resistance.

It is composed of 17 % chromium and 4% nickel. SS 71-4ph Sheet can be heat treated to high levels of strength and hardness I.e when heat treated to condition H900, it gets hardened up to 44 Rc. It is used in the petrochemical industry. The Type 17-4 PH Shim Sheet is used to adjust for a better fit or provide a level surface. It is recognized by the SUS304 naming convention and has a maximum hardness of Rockwell C38.
