1.4021 SS UNS S42000 Coils

Stainless Steel 420 coils contain high carbon steel and minimum Chromium content of 12%. Ductility and Corrosion resistance of the ASTM A240 SS 420 coils are enhanced with processes like annealing and polishing. The SS 420 plates have limited welding properties due to their hardening form. Similar to other grade stainless steel, the SS UNS S42000 coils can be hardened by heat treatment.

The SS 420 coils resist corrosion from atmosphere, foods, freshwater, mild alkalies and acids, steam, sterilizing solutions, crude oil, gasoline. Preheating can cause cold cracking in ASTM A240 SS 420 coils but it can be avoided through special consideration. The SS 420 sheets can be hardened and tempered either in the tensile range 700 - 850 Mpa (condition R) Brinell range 201 - 255, or range in the tensile range 770 - 930 Mpa (condition S).
